Where applicable all existing timber fascias, soffits and bargeboards are carefully removed and cleared from site. We do not cap over existing timber fascias with upvc.
All underlying timbers (rafter feet) are then checked to make sure they are not decayed. If any decay found, new sections are spliced in prior to upvc installation.

A pressure treated tanalised timber plate is then fixed onto the existing rafter feet to provide additional support for the overhanging eave tiles. This is a very important part of the preparation due to the fact that upvc fascias are not ‘load bearing’ and without this additional support the fascia board will eventually warp and lose it’s shape. |
|
Furthermore, when the gutter is eventually screwed onto the upvc fascia the screw will also lock into the pressure treated plate producing an extremely strong finished installation.
